Dec 01, 2008 in Layers, Photo Manipulation, Tutorials

To create this effect in photoshop, first take the lasso tool and draw around the iris of the left eye. When it is selected, press Ctrl+C Ctrl+V to copy onto a new layer (apple+c apple+v). Select the background layer again with the picture and repeat this for the right eye. Select both the eye layers in the layers panel. Right click and choose merge layers. Open the picture you want to place inside the eye and drag on to of the other image, above the eye layer. Ctrl+T (Apple+T) on the picture layer to reduce the size to the same size as the iris. Duplicate the layer and place over the other iris. Choose overlay for the two picture layers in the layers pallette to let the highlights and shading from the eye shine through. Erase the extra part of the picture that overhangs the iris area and turn your bottom picture layer back on to see the finiahed effect.

Sep 08, 2008 in Effects, Filters, Layers, Photo Manipulation, Tutorials

A great easy to follow tutorial. First use the liquify filter ( filter > liquify) to stretch areas on the face, particularly arching the eye brows. A good tip is to try to make the face unsymetrical. After adding a layer of texture and aligning it with the photograph below, choose hard light from the layers panel drop down menu with the texture layer selected. Erase the unwanted areas and use the dodge and burn tools to highlight specific areas. A good tutorial for changing the eye colour can be found here: Zombie eye.
